Welcome to Parsley!

Ille se profecisse Latine sciat, cui Cicero valde placebit. Quintilianus

Parsley is a Latin-language morphological parser designed from the ground up to get Latin into your head faster and more accurately. It provides the following benefits:

  • Parsley shows you exactly what you're looking for. It prominently shows each word's part of speech (noun, verb, etc.) and English-language gloss.

  • For when you're in the library without a computer, Parsley runs seamlessly on your iPhone, iPad, or other small-screen device. It has a "responsive design," which means it adapts to match your display's size.

  • Parsley is fast, fast, fast. Parsley's backend is written in pure Go, a new programming language designed by Google to keep the Web nimble. It runs on Google App Engine, so it won't slow down just because it gets popular. Try your searches here and see how much faster they are than the already-excellent Perseus.
